Arrowhead Celebrates 78 Years of Impacting Lives & Making Disciples
We strive for excellence in the care we provide through camp programming, the opportunities of service we offer and the staff we train and lead. Our programming exists to care for the spiritual and physical needs of our campers and guests with a specialized focus on adults with developmental disabilities. Through our programs and the outdoor setting we also focus on providing opportunities of service for families, students, churches and community organizations. We are passionate about training up the next generation. We challenge, encourage and disciple our staff, training them in leadership responsibility, professional development, spiritual growth, team dynamics, community living and the daily care of others.
Since 1962, Shepherds Camp has been offering full care, overnight camp to teens and adults with developmental disabilities. We offer eleven weeks of summer camp, including weeks of specialized 1:1 sessions for campers requiring individualized care. We offer additional weeks of camp throughout the fall, winter, and spring, personalizing our program to each individual's special needs.
The Launch Initiative (TLI) is an intensive discipleship and leadership training program designed to give graduated high school students real life experience prior to further education, finding a career, or starting a family. The TLI Gap Year Program provides crucial mentoring, living skills training, personal development, and healthy community in the unique camping ministry context of Arrowhead Bible Camp. The Launch Initiative uses a mission support platform, challenging students to develop a missional mindset, create a network of ministry supporters, and experience lifestyle ministry with the opportunity to complete the program debt free.
The James Project is a high impact missions opportunity that changes lives and trains leaders as they serve on the front lines at Arrowhead. Each year, dozens of James Project missions teams join us to serve as support staff during our summer programming and seasonal retreats. The James Project creates a formative experience designed to engage each groups’ specific ministry objectives. It is the next level of ministry partnership with churches, student ministries, para-church ministries, and families.
Arrowhead is open year round as a guest group facility. Groups at Arrowhead enjoy the exclusive use of the facilities - all under one roof. Guest groups return each year because of our genuine service and care.
Serving groups of 40 to 125, Arrowhead offers a camp experience that will knock your sock off! The cozy atmosphere of hardwood floors, knotty pine walls, the roaring fireplace and all the hot chocolate you can drink is matched by small group gathering spaces, ball field, basketball court, and the cabins overlooking our beautiful spring fed lake.
INVEST in the impact of Arrowhead. Be a FRIEND with a $100 investment, or become a FANATIC with $1,000.
Our goal is to make 1,000 friends in 2023.
Friends & Fanatics is exponentially furthering our impact in every area of camp:
Program, facilities and accessibility equipment
Discipleship, leadership training, ministry & professional development
Arrowhead Bible Camp is excited to announce a new program beginning the fall of 2022 – Leadership in Disabilities (LID). We would be thrilled to have you consider joining the LID Program and making an incredible impact on the front-lines of our ministry.
The LID Program vision is to train and disciple a new generation of leaders with the confidence, character, and competence to serve with excellence in the field of disabilities; skilled to work and lead in ministry, business, and the primary physical care of others.
